Temperance Social Eating House

Come and see what Peter, Lynn and Alistair have created… A truly atmospheric social eating experience in the heart of old Chesham, set in the ancestral Temperance Hall and, true to form, not licensed to sell alcohol. You can bring your own though, PHEW! Temperance recommend the Red Squirrel brewery near the clock tower, so you can buy your bevy’s en route. Splendid. Popping up every Saturday over February and March 2014, guest chef is Chesham’s Tim Zekki, from the Lop Eared Pig at Hazledene Farm, so he’s accustomed to a quirky setting. Chesham Tales has received word from reliable diners that the food is utterly delectable, whilst the moody, dark and candle lit setting adds to the gin palace vibe, and provides a beautifully styled backdrop to the whole adventure….

Update: on the 1st March 2014, Chesham Tales was fortunate to sample the Temperance Social Eating experience, and was not disappointed. It was well organised, the atmosphere buzzing, the food truly wonderful. Chesham sorely needs a place/opportunity for such social events as Temperance – It’s totally sold out, for Pete(r)’s sake!! Brilliant.
