Meet Paul. An engaging and interesting character, you’ll find him hidden behind his mask while he paints. Infamous locally and in the street art world, Paul was in Chesham supported by JPS Stationer’s, promoting the accessibility of art through demonstrations and workshops during the day, and performing at Kirsty Wright’s ‘Simply Vega’ pop up restaurant in the evening. You can purchase the Liquidex spray paints Paul uses at Chesham’s JPS Stationer’s, 7 Market Square. http://jpschesham.com/
The ethos behind Street Art Drop is the need to remember the human beings behind the Facebook accounts. The Internet is a brilliant tool for creation, promotion, sharing, looking, learning etc, but Street Art Drop warns us to be careful, especially young people, not to get sucked in and forget we have an incredible planet and people with which to interact. Street Art Drop travels all over the UK, dropping abstract art canvasses for hunters and gatherers to find, keep and adorn walls, encouraging us out from behind our screens and into our streets.
Artist Paul remains gallery-shy, preferring to create art for those who can’t afford gallery prices. He keeps his costs as low as possible, so passing on the savings to the customer and ensuring access to quality art for all. Outside of the drop, paintings are also available to buy, if you haven’t been lucky in the chase. Being self financed, Street Art Drop relies on sales or donations to be able to cover costs, meaning the more he sells, the more he drops….
