Meet the warm and welcoming W. Brazil & Co. cafe owners, Ola and Gello.
Chesham is lucky enough to have seduced this entrepreneurial couple into Market Square, where they’ve firmly established their presence in front of the clock tower. Behind the listed signage, which dates back to the early 20th Century when Brazil’s was a butchers, lies a bustling cafe. Always heaving at lunch time, you’ll often find a few regulars, sitting within the thoughtfully styled interior, surrounded by art on sale from local artists such as StreetArtDrop and Tony J Moody. Chefs, Miertek and Marian are tucked away at the back, diligently creating the delicious gourmet for which Brazil’s has become known, including the Eggs Benedict, a firm Chesham favourite. Prepared and presented beautifully, you can taste the pride that goes into the cafe from all the team. There is an overall lovely, relaxed but busy atmosphere, perfect for eating in.
Ola and Gello are both originally from Poland, though having lived their youth about 5 miles away from each other, they never met until moving to the UK in early the 2000’s. Since then they have lived together in various locations up north and down south, including Nottingham and Marlow, until settling happily in Chesham, where they have been duly embraced by the locals.
Open from 9am until 4.30pm Monday – Friday, 8.30-3.30pm Saturday and 9.30-3pm on a Sunday, they cater for breakfasters, late risers, coffee drinkers, those who lunch or take afternoon tea. Ola and Gello welcomed Chesham Tales into their delectable cafe….
