Chesham welcomed back adopted sons CC Smugglers, to a sold out night at the Elgiva Theatre for the last set of their current tour. Thanks to Martin Freeman and the BURYFields crew, we were once again treated to a night of folking great music, great vibes and general, unadulterated joy.
Having first been introduced to Chesham at one of Martin’s ‘Music To Your Ears’ nights a couple of years ago, the CC Smugglers have gone from guerrilla street buskers to one of the UK’s leading acoustic country acts. Renowned for their energy and intrepid live performances, the Smugglers delivered another blinder, whipping the crowd up into a frenzied revel that ended with the unique Smuggler ingredient of an unplugged, raw finale. Supported by Fred’s House and Bootlegger’s Son, CC Smugglers ended a quality night of pure musical happiness. The after party was quite something too, thanks to The Jolly Sportsman, which really lived up to its name….
If you missed them this time, CC Smugglers will be returning for this years BURYFields Summer sessions, taking the main stage on the Friday 19th June. Check the BURYFields website for more details www.buryfields.co.uk. @ccsmugglers
