HAPPY NEW YEEEEAAAARR!!!!
Cheerio 2019, HELLOOO 2020
Let’s hope we still have many a decade ahead of us on this beautiful planet.
Another tumultuous year to say the least, in terms of politics, environment, politics.
In keeping with previous New Year Posts, here’s few suggestions to help enhance the year ahead, come what may.
- Know about Jane Goodall, maybe learn to speak Chimpanzee too janegoodall.org
- Start a subscription to get smart about stuff eg. Medium – you can write and share your own thoughts on Medium too. medium.com
- BUY LESS CRAP AND BUY LOCAL.
- Buy coffee from Roots Cafe in Chesham, it’s really bloody good.
- Buy your shampoo, hand wash, fabric conditioner and other such essentials from the brilliant Refill Project, at Chesham Market on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Remember to bring your empty bottles.
- Go somewhere you haven’t been before, whether down the road or across the oceans.
- Volunteer your time for a cause you care about. Even an hour will be appreciated. “To receive, we must first be able to give.” (Don’t know who said that, but it’s a sensible philosophy)
- Stop making excuses and get on with it. Whatever ‘it’ is for you. Fill the dash between your start and end date. Check out the Yes Theory guys on You Tube for some inspiration (and entertainment!) youtu.be/CDxBjrWxcII.
- Make time.
- Chesham is surrounded by beautiful countryside, so whatever your persuasion, try going for a walk. Maybe hug a tree. See how it makes you feel.
- Next time you see a stranger and think they look great, tell them.
- Try eating an insect in place of a cow burger. Eatgrub.co.uk sells edible insect gourmet and even Sainsbury’s has stocked some roasted crickets.
